Featured Book: 'Praying the Names of God', by Ann Spangler
I was enthralled the first time I came across this book on praying the names of God. The concept itself was fascinating to me—the idea of meditating on each of God's names and delving deep into their meaning. It was a concept that truly resonated with me.
Even though I haven't finished studying all 26 names listed in the book, every time I pick a name to study for the week, I embark on an epiphanic journey that leaves me ruminating for weeks! It has opened my eyes to the power of praying the names of God.
One of the names I love to go back to and often mention in my prayer is the name EL ROI (Hebrew), which translates to 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦.
EL ROI is the God who sees you, who knows you like no other. In those moments when it feels like you're invisible to the world and those around you, EL ROI sees you. When you find yourself putting on a mask to cover your struggles, EL ROI sees and knows the truth. And even when it seems like He is silent, EL ROI 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘴. He is all-knowing, compassionate, and ever-present.
EL ROI is always there, patiently waiting for those who don't know Him to come to Him and experience His love, joy, peace, and everlasting life. He is the 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 source of true happiness and peace that surpasses all understanding.
The name EL ROI is a reminder for me that I am seen by a loving and caring God who is always by my side, even in the darkest of times. When I pray to EL ROI, I am reminded of the incredible privilege it is to have such an intimate relationship with the God who knows me and loves me unconditionally.
Suffice to say, it's a wonderful book to have! Grab it when you can!
